About MODXpo
MODXpo is the official, international MODX user conference. MODX developers, designers and site builders gather to learn, share, explore and network. Our first MODXpo was held in Dallas, in 2010 and last year was held in the city of Utrecht in the Netherlands. If you've not been to a MODXpo, this is the event for you.

MODXpo 2013 Highlights
There are top-notch keynotes, presentations, workshops, and much more, from well known MODX community members including Susan Ottwell, Mark Hamstra and Gauke Pieter Sietzema. Ryan Thrash, MODX Co-founder, will present his State of MODX and showcase the past, present and future of MODX. Other great sessions include: responsive development tools, continuous deployment, scaling and high availability, how not to build MODX sites, case studies, contributing to MODX and much more. In addition, there will be plenty of time for making connections and code.
It's a jam-packed patch release that includes more than 170 fixes and improvements over 2.2.6. Wowza!

Revo 2.2.7 includes a new setting (cache_alias_map) to turn off the mapping which caches URLs. This change enables sites with high numbers of resources to perform significantly better. With the new setting left on (business as usual) a site with 100k Resources might consume more than 130Mb of memory on each request; switch it off, and it only uses 24Mb. Additionally, there are many improvements to the user experience and interface in general, along with several other performance enhancements.

This release does include security fixes. We always recommend upgrading to the latest version of Revolution to keep your MODX sites safe.

Here are the highlights of the 2.2.7 release:

New index improves performance related to Template Variables and large datasets.

Added support for HttpOnly session cookies for PHP 5.2+ (Security improvement)

Various bug fixes with auto publishing and server_offset_time

Massive scalability improvement for sites with 1000s of Resources by making the aliasMap optional

Allow Elements to be duplicated from the Edit View

A great number of manager UX and code improvements

This release primarily helps prevent PHP-apocalypse at some hosts from being an issue. Evolution 1.0.9 should work fine on PHP 5.4, and it should also be more secure. We strongly encourage all MODX Evolution users to upgrade to this release.

Update: There was a bug found in 1.0.9 that will cause problems on installations running PHP 5.3 and below. The fix can be found in this forum post.
I would especially like to express my sincere gratitude for a group of MODX Ambassadors who have assumed the roles of lead maintainers and developers for MODX Evolution: Dmytro Lukianenko (Dmi3yy), Mansori Yamamato (yama), Thomas Jakobi (jako) and Agel_Nash (Yevgeny Borisov). With these talented and trusted individuals at the helm of MODX Evolution, your Evo sites should be sound. Not only did they do a great job of managing this release, but they also began bug marshalling the Evo Project Tracker. As a result, the Evo Project tracker should see more activity and more accurately represent the outstanding issue queue; in fact they’re already planning 1.0.10.

We’d also like to thank all the individuals who took the time to report issues and contributed to this release—huge apologies if I overlooked anyone! They include Paprikas, Vevusik, netprophet, segr, ncrossland, kp52, mithrandir, ottogal, marturion, noahlearner, devtrench, pbowyer, adamboota, tonatos, andchir, uxello, sottwell, everettg_99, david55, multimedia, manu37, temus, breezer, eoler, and a-sharapov.

A special note for MODXers hosted at 1&1 Hosting. According to reports, they will be completely switching all servers to PHP 5.4 as of April 1, 2013—unless of course it’s an elaborate April Fools joke. In order for your MODX site to continue to operate, and just in case it isn’t, you should upgrade today.

MODX Evolution 1.0.10 will be out in the next week.

This more frequent and consistent release cycle is to bring you fixes and improvements sooner and more predictably.
Changes of note in Revolution 2.2.6 include ensuring Resource values update when Template is changed and another that corrects a crash saving a Resource where its Template Variable has restricted permissions.

As always, this release also includes a few security fixes to keep your MODX sites safe. We always recommend upgrading to the latest version of Revolution.
Here are the highlights of the 2.2.6 release:

Corrected changing Template on Resources

Resolved Save crash with Template Varibles that have restricted permissions.

Optimized images in the Manager UI for performance boost.

Fixed window closing when using MODX Browser when Manager Loaded in new browser tab.

Removed the math Output Filter

Prevent new Content Types from having Binary Checked
